✨Happy World Oceans Day! ✨ To celebrate we're launching The Reef Cooperative. A $2 million, 3 year project for reef conservation! This practical in-water conservation model is underpinned by a $2 million commitment from @cottononfoundation 🌊 The Reef Cooperative is a collaboration between @citizensgbr, @gbrbiology, @jamescookuniversity, @mars.anz and Dawul Wuru Aboriginal Corporation, and supported by founding funder, @cottononfoundation. Kicking off in August on Hastings Reef under the stewardship of Yirrganydji Traditional Owners, together we will: 🐠: Install 700 MARRS Reef Stars on rubble patches 🐠: Re-seed millions of coral larvae 🐠: Educate tourists on conservation and Traditional Owner perspectives 🐠: Scale up citizen science engagement through the #GreatReefCensus Hear from Gavin, Project Manager from the Yirrganydji Land and Sea Rangers, to find out more! 👀
