Had a great day with my family today. And just wanted to download some thoughts. Having 3 kids on a boat is not easy so it took a little time but after looking back at the photos and processing the day the first thought that jumped in my brain was... I am really proud of my dad. My dads father - my grandfather was a plumber. The man came from nothing. And he is driving around Sag Harbor in a 72 ft Azimut boat that just to me feels like I am driving around in a floating goal my dad set for himself years ago. Like that goal you right down on paper to say - when I make it I want this... When I was a kid I used to get up weirdly early. And every morning I would be playing with my GI Joes and Hulk Hogan Wrestler and watch my dad walk out the door to go run a business building homes at 6AM everyday. Some days he would be gone before I got up. That always stuck with me. I love talking about culture because its so important in any team or business or family. And both my parents dont come from any wealth or money whatsoever and built our family name from the ground up in one generation. I feel like they instilled this grit in our family and its part of our culture as a family. That at the end of the day it is not your generational wealth or intellect - its the length, width, and depth of your work ethic and grind. That its about showing up to the fight everyday and then fighting harder then everyone else. Cheers Dad. Thanks for showing me the way.
