I designed a missing album cover for Alice Coltrane’s Ptah the El Daoud to be auctioned @herculesrecords to raise money for @peoplesprograms in Oakland this Saturday. All proceeds are going to the Peoples Programs, so if you’re in the Bay Area, don’t miss this special opportunity to give back to the black community of Oakland. And to get rare albums designed by local artists! As many of you know, Alice Coltrane’s music means a great deal to me, and has moved me through beautiful and difficult times in my life. The audio is “Kazuko” in honor of Pharoah Sanders (a frequent collaborator of Coltrane’s) because as I finished designing this cover is when I learned he had exited this world.
