One of the most useless things that I had to do in nursing school was write 20+ page care plans for two patients that I had to take care of the next day in clinicals. I had to drive to the hospital in the afternoon to choose two patient charts to look at and then spend the rest of the day writing a care plan for each of them. Care plans took so long to write that I’d be up until midnight just to finish them up and then I would have to wake up at 4 am to go to clinicals at 6 am. Then once I got to the hospital, I’d find out that one or both of the patients I had written a careplan for had been discharged/transferred, so my care plans ended up being useless 🥲 Morale of the story: care plans are pointless and should be abolished in nursing schools. #nursingschool #newgradnurse #newgradnursetips #newgradnurseproblems #nursingschoolproblems
