Denmark has a new government! Mette Frederiksen has been reappointed as Prime Minister of Denmark and will lead the new coalition government consisting of parties across the political centre. The new government consists of The Social Democratic Party, The Liberal Party, and The Moderates. Together, the three parties constitute a majority government. Majority governments are a rarity in Danish politics, where minority governments have been more common. A majority government has not been seen in Denmark since 1993/94. The formation of the government is historic in several ways. The negotiations on the formation of the new government have been the longest in modern times and a coalition government represented by parties from both sides of the parliament has not been seen since the late 1970s. 📸: Mads Claus Rasmussen/Ritzau Scanpix
