Yuka Kashihara’s painting “Lavender Cliffs” in on view in our Palm Beach solo exhibition of her work through July 15th. In her paintings, @yukakashihara combines Japanese and Western oil painting techniques, applying thin layers of paint in a manner reminiscent of Japanese nihonga painting to create luminous works with a sense of transparency and unique depth of color. Though she used Japanese pigments in her earlier work, in recent years she has worked with tempera and oil to create evocative, atmospheric landscapes with vivid color harmonies.
