My friend Breck passed away Monday night. He was hands down one of the funniest people I’ve met in real life. A thousand examples come to mind. Sometimes when Breck was rehearsing a sketch at The Groundlings he would look out at me in the audience and make direct eye contact. Hold it for awhile. I don’t know if you’ve ever taken an acting class but you’re not supposed to do that. Breck did that a lot. Another time I asked Breck to play a security guard in a sketch I wrote. He was supposed to come in at the end of the sketch deliver one line and get out. Showtime Breck enters the sketch wearing the the weirdest wig, a full Yosemite Sam mustache, and said his line with a thick Southern accent. Also he was holding a dildo but that was part of the sketch. It was off putting and weird and insanely hilarious and honestly so was my friend Breck. I’m really going to miss our phone calls and facetimes and eating disgusting food together but most of all I’ll miss the hours upon hours we spent on stage making goofs and doofs.
