This Saturday at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts (PAFA), take part in a celebratory gathering and remembrance of Patrick Maguire, artist, friend, and member of ICA’s installation crew for many years. Retired PAFA faculty member, Mark Blavat, and former ICA Chief Curator, Anthony Elms, will lead a walking discussion of Maguire’s artwork currently on view in the exhibition, "Day Residue", through December 30, 2022. Mirroring the immense generosity of the artist, Maguire’s paintings provide nourishment for reflection and curiosity. Composed of row upon row of diminutive marks of color, the paintings suggest architecture, portals, and specters, and offer a space for contemplating our own impermanence.
