I remembered we had to visit this space in graduate school. I had walked in the first room upstairs and thought to myself I’m gonna have a show here. I then walked over to my friend/peer and told her Kendall I’m gonna show here in a couple of years. And here we are three years later. With this wonderful exhibition and a photo magazine to go along with it. —————- FOTODOK invites artists to show projects that respond to their lived experiences of various mental states. Presented works mediate personal stories of the makers or are the result of close collaboration with colleagues, friends, and family members that reflect on their realities. Many of the makers construct their narratives through photographic self-portraiture, and weave together poetry, paintings, video, and other media. ———————— I want to give a special thanks to @tiboncy for writing the beautiful piece about my work.
