American Reflexxx has been a really wild journey for @allicoates and I. From the night we went to the Myrtle Beach boardwalk to “film the cyborg walking around” (that’s how it began), to the night that we debuted it amongst all of our closest friends in the Miami at Bushwick Gone Basel (real heads know!!!), to the night that we uploaded it to YouTube in 2015 and watched it immediately go viral. This art has altered the way that I see the world and how I act within it, and it’s helped me affirm the idea that art can go beyond the art world and into the real world. The greatest reflexxxion of all is getting to feel the way that it makes other people feel— Alli and I call it “the reflexxx to Reflexxx”, and the conversations it spawns.
