The people of Iran have the right to freedom, peace, and justice! Since Friday, September 19, anti-government demonstrations have been rapidly growing across Iran despite a brutal crackdown by authorities. The protests began in reaction to the killing of Zhina (Mahsa) Amini, a 22-year-old woman who was severely beaten in police custody. She was arrested by Iran’s “morality police” for violating the regime’s mandatory hijab laws. As the government restricts internet access, we must continue to amplify the voices of protesters.
