🧪LETS TALK DILUTION SOLUTION🧪

•
Often we have heard “Use Shades EQ Crystal Clear to make our formula a level lighter”— but let’s talk about what’s actually happening.
•
•
Remember Crystal Clear is no lift, no level, no tone (000) So,When we use Crystal Clear we aren’t making our color a lighter level we are simply sheering out our formulas so our deposit will visually appear less pigmented. Which can “trick” the eye into perceiving that our formula has been made a lighter level— but this isn’t the case. If my original starting level is a 9 and I dilute my formula with clear I’m still at a Level 9. I’ve only diluted the tonality of my color.

Take this video of me painting with water colors for example. My Full Strength swatch has the deepest blue— but as I add more water my paint slowly starts to sheer out. All of these swatches are the same blue but adding more water creates a more lighter result due to diluting the tonality of my paint. Just like Shades EQ Crystal Clear in our Shades EQ formulas.
