#MakingChange: Turning stoops into stages. Life, art, and the humanities happen everywhere—on and off stage. Originating uptown, animating the stoops of Harlem’s classic brownstone buildings following the crises of 2020, artist @marija_abney inaugurated @TheSoapboxPresents as a space for Black joy and live music. Launched at Lenox Avenue and West 120th Street, the series has expanded to the Bronx, Brooklyn, and other Harlem locations—all featuring borough-local artists.
