Pace is just one of many elements of our voice that affect the energy and connection with the listener or our audience. This is huge for educators, presenters, speakers, coaches, etc... but think about how this affects a social media post or even just a casual conversation. We want our audience to have an awesome adventure with us which means we want highs and lows but we don’t want to let things get too sleepy or too anxious because we will lose connection. Each one of us has a natural authentic pace which creates our baseline and it would feel synthetic to our audience and to ourselves if we tried to be something we are not. If I naturally talk pretty fast and show up on stage talking a the pace of a monk in deep meditation... everyone’s bullshit meter is going to be blowing up.
