Capsule wardrobe: summer holiday edition. I'm obsessed with packing the right amount of the right things to ensure I feel comfortable, appropriate and stylish on a trip. If you're interested*, here's what I packed, wore (and didn't wear), for a week away someplace warm, as well as some tips I've learned along the way. - I love to feel put together when I fly. Nothing fancy, just comfortable, effortless pieces that are crush adverse, or look good worn in. Once you find those pieces, hold onto them! My current favourite is a slouchy linen suit, chunky sandals, and a singlet. - clothes that work double time are great. Swimsuits work as cute bralets under jackets or sheer tops, and one pieces can also work for gym sessions or bodysuits under pants, shorts and skirts. Scarves make great sarongs, mask hair that needs a wash, or can be worn over your shoulders for temple visits or cooler nights. - shoes: one nice pair of flats, one to walk a million miles in, and a pair of trainers is probably all you'll need.. I didn't consider wearing heels once. - for can't be bothered hair situations, I pack a cute hat (fave is a Greek fisherman's cap) cap and a scarf. - a matching print set is a fast way to look put together when you can't be bothered thinking about it. - natural fabrics breathe better and are easier to rinse and dry in your hotel/motel/holiday inn if you need. Cotton, linen, hemp or silk if you're down with it, are my go-tos. - I'm into this whole crotchet/macrame vibe! It's summer holiday fun, and a great way to go from beach, to dinner in style. - don't pack anything you'd be devastated if it got dirty... holidays are for living! - a few small pieces of jewellery can make you feel like yourself, but leave the blingy bits at home. - a small crossbody bag is a hands free way to keep valuables close.
