Hidden in Staten Island, the Chinese Scholar’s Garden at Snug Harbor is one of only two authentic classical Chinese gardens in the U.S. Handmade in Suzhou, China, and assembled here by 40 artisans, every detail — from the zigzag bridges to the 15-foot scholar’s rock — tells a story.
Walk the bamboo-lined paths, pause at waterfalls, notice the mosaics of broken rice bowls and beer bottles, and let yourself slow down. It’s a space built for reflection, art, and quiet inspiration.
🎟️ Admission: $5 adults | $4 seniors & students | Free for children under 5, military, and Snug Harbor members
