ITS GIVING DR. OLIVIA POPE!! Y’all I don’t know who let me get this close to the White House, but I guess all this ranting on my platforms has led me to THE Hill ⚖️🤓 Why am I here? COVID-19 exposed a variety of problems within our healthcare system. As an OBGYN Resident Physician I’ve seen and felt how these problems not only impact our healthcare workers, but ultimately how it impacts our patients. In February 2022, Congress took an important first step with the passage of the Lorna Breen Act. This law—named for Dr. Lorna Breen, a New York City emergency room physician who tragically died by suicide in 2020 at the onset of the pandemic—seeks to improve access to mental health assistance for healthcare professionals FIGS @wearfigs brought me and 8 other Awesome Humans all the way to Capitol Hill to advocate for change as part of their continued effort to support the healthcare community and create the world we all want to live in. Tomorrow I’ll be meeting with congress people all day for safer healthcare conditions.
