The Fried Chicken Plate at River Belle Terrace in Disneyland
$24.00 Magic Key Discounts Available
This one is a boneless fries chicken thigh served with Mashed Potatoes, Garden Farm Vegetables and Creamy Pork Demi-glacéd. So let’s start with some facts. At Plaza Inn you get 3 pieces of fried chicken (a breast, a thigh, and a leg; bone-in), mashed potatoes, string beans, gravy, and a biscuit for $22. Here you get a nice, but solo boneless chicken thigh, mashed potatoes, string beans, “gravy”, and a little bit of arugula salad for $24 (plus the added expense of tipping your server). At face value Plaza Inn is a much better value. I don’t want to just compare this to Plaza Inn though. In my home opinions are divided on chicken thighs. I like them, my son likes them, and everyone else isn’t a fan and prefers chicken breast. I’m assuming it being a boneless thigh will be a deal breaker for some folks. I liked it a lot though. The mashed potatoes were fine (comparable to Plaza Inn), but the string beans and creamy pork demi-glacéd (gravy) were better quality here than at Plaza Inn. I liked this dish a lot, but it seemed overpriced to me. Our service was great and the meal experience was quick and easy. I recommend it for people who maybe don’t care so much about the price point and enjoy chicken thighs. I give it a 8.25/10 rating for taste (but if you’re not a thigh person….) and a 4/10 for value
