DB Rotational Pivot Swings:

DB creates an Arch in front of the body as you swing the weight from side to side. While this is going on, pivoting in the feet and hips occur. The DB goes from a forced deceleration (due to inertial characteristics of swinging the DB) right to a re-acceleration of the DB. This movement also promotes central stabilization because of the handling of the weight outside the center mass as well as rotational strengthening of the obliques. Since it is strengthening the anterior sling system, it can be useful in “opening” or mobilizing the posterior sling system (which runs from the glute max, across the thoracolumbar fascia, and into the opposing lats).
