It’s been 3 nights since transitioning @theqttwins from their cribs to Montessori-inspired floor beds and they are adjusting faster than we expected! The first night they were learning about the space and adjusting to each other’s movements throughout the night. They kept waking each other up unintentionally, but even by night 2, they would stir only a little and fall back asleep. Today is Day 4 and they had some trouble with nap time today, but did fall asleep briefly for 2 naps. At one point Harper was asleep and Knox was quietly playing with toys. When they were in their cribs and one wasn’t ready for sleep yet, that baby would be crying or trying to wake the other baby which often meant the other would get overtired and cranky. They also started getting feverish during the transition, so maybe feeling under the weather or teething could be affecting their naps. Overall, we are so happy with this decision. Our mornings are improved too because instead of being woken up by crying (which can be jarring), we just hear knocking on their door. When they wake up, they play together, waddle around, slither across the floor, chit chat, and will take another little nap before they let us know they’re ready to come out. It has been making our days feel less rushed trying to get everything done and ready while they are crying to get out of their cribs. Hope this is helpful for anyone considering this method or new to it! We weren’t sure how it would work with twins, but so far so good!
