Dinner under the stars, for R&J in Greece last week ✨ There’s a little story behind this beautiful table: in the early stages of planning, the couple mentioned that lighting was really important to them - so when it came to aligning budget and reducing costs, I suggested we use flowers only for the ceremony, and have a table decorated exclusively with light, fabric, and local ceramic. I suggested we suspend twinkling fairylights that would drop down low to the table, extending the glow of the candles upward. When set-up time started on the wedding day, it transpired that (due to circumstances outside of everyone’s control) the structure that was supposed to hold the lights, wasn’t available. So we walked around the venue and found two beautiful wooden ladders - original pieces used every day by the owners of the vineyard - and we knew we had the perfect solution. So the team and I secured the fairylights to the ladders at either end of the table - and *SLAM* they dropped right down onto the plates bringing the ladders down too with their weight. So I went fishing for some of the dark green paracord in my wedding emergency kit, and up we went, climbing as high as we could in order to tie it to two neighbouring trees. Once we were done, the dark cord ran perpendicular across the courtyard and held the fairylights up at their middle point, bearing the weight. These decisions had to be made by me in a matter of minutes. As the sunlight faded and the vineyard darkened, the table shone - welcoming, balanced, seamless - ready to host joy and memories, and all the more beautiful for having come to life thanks to elements of the vineyard itself 🤍 _ Planning & Styling: @thestarsinside Photography: @rebeccacarpenterphotography Videography: @russellkentnicholls Venue: @miloscavewinery Hair & Make-up: @stormemakeupartist Lighting: Dimitris Poulimenos Catering: Ta Gloronisia Milos Tableware: Verona Events Stationery: @bertievalentinelondon Coordination Assistance: @delearshop
