@juan_covelli is one of the three artists being commissioned to create new digital artwork as part of the PATH-AI Residency Programme in Partnership with the Creative Computing Institute at UAL (@ual_cci) and the Alan Turing Institute (@theturinginst) ⁠ ⁠ Juan Covelli is a Colombian artist and independent curator living and working in Bogatá. Covelli’s practice revolves around the technological potential of digital archives as a tool of radical creation to readdress entrenched arguments of repatriation and colonial histories. ⁠ ⁠ Covelli is developing a simulation piece created with gaming engine technologies for the Path-AI Residency Programme. This new body of work takes inspiration from the extremist ideologies which the internet culture has accelerated. ⁠ ⁠ PATH-AI residency programme in partnership with The Alan Turing Institute and UAL Creative Computing Institute, commissions three artists to create new works critically engaging with intercultural ideas of privacy, agency, and trust in relation to artificial intelligence (AI) and other data-driven technologies. ⁠ ⁠ Link in bio for more information on Juan’s practice.
