“It’s strange because growing up, I was surrounded by people in the entertainment industry all the time and the dots never connected for me. I never saw my family members doing things and thought to myself, ‘That’s what I want to do.’ It wasn’t until I saw people my age on TV that I realised I wanted to do that too. It was important for me to forge my own career path because people will try and diminish my achievements having had family members in the industry. I wanted everything I achieved to be because of me.
