This post comes almost a month late, but I ran a 50k race around Red Rock a few weeks ago and had a great time. My goals were to not get injured and to comport myself with dignity (i.e. have enough energy to be friendly with folks while I ran and generally have a good time). The race was a success on both fronts - I was quite sore for a week but definitely not injured and I had a really good time running with all kinds of nice folks. In fact, that was probably the highlight.
@sannimccandless took some goofy looking start and finish photos (don’t worry, I didn’t carry baby June the whole way). Also, congrats to @mountainhighadventures who ran a great race and was the only person I knew entering the race.
I’m definitely never going to be a real runner, but it’s been super fun to dabble a bit. Thanks to @desertgrowntrailraces for putting on the event.
