UKbC 2022, London heats. First of all, i would like to congratulate all the competitors for their amazing performances. It takes an extraordinary amount of effort and time and resources to bring on stage our best selves and share our message to the wider audience. A big thank you to all the volunteers and the judges because without them, it would definitely not be possible! To be honest, I’ve always struggled with the 7minute routine. It’s super hard to develop a concept in 7 minutes, as the amount of words that we have to say (because we have to say) cover about 80% of the total speech. That’s the reason that this year we pushed ourselves more to find the best way to captivate a concept and an idea with that 20%. The concept of the art & science of coffee was based on the idea that extraordinary coffees do not just happen. Someone has put the effort into studying how to optimize growing exceptional varietal, as well as mastering fermentation practices etc. But in order to communicate this to our guests, it has to happen in an empathetic, kind and educational way in order to give justice to all the hard work that people before us have put. This whole idea and the performance wouldn’t be possible without the competition team at @watchhouse. @doyouevenbrew @matteofromtheswamps @paul_ross_ were constantly by my side during the formulation of this idea as well as the training sessions and of course on the day, when you need help to relax and destress. @matteofromtheswamps and @massimo helped massively with that because without them I'm sure i would definitely forget to drink water or go to the bathroom. I would also like to congratulate @tedlongshot for his amazing performance. I’m looking forward to seeing your next routine and sharing your passion with all of us.
