👏 The WALL BALL CLEAN: an accessory movement to the Barbell Clean.
I program Wall Ball Cleans into the Strength & Technique sessions in my High Intensity Strength program, for you to focus on QUALITY reps to overall improve your Clean. So let’s make sure you’re doing them correctly.
✅ Mimicking the Barbell Clean movement by pulling up and receiving the Wall Ball.
❌ Spinning the Wall Ball into position.
In order for this movement to be effective, the Wall Ball must be Cleaned not spun or curled.
✅ Wall Ball follows a vertical pathway close to the body.
❌ Wall Ball follows an arched pathway away from the body.
The shortest pathway is straight up and down from the floor to the shoulders. We don’t want to waste our power by moving it forward. Lead with your elbows and keep the Wall Ball close to your body.
✅ Hips reaching full extension.
❌ Hips not reaching full extension.
This allows you to generate maximal power in your lift.
