in the midst of one of the covid lockdowns of 2021, there was a big billboard that went up near my home in east london, and it read something like ‘everything is going to be alright’, in big capital letters. i have no idea whether it was a company trying to sell something or a charity or somebody just being nice and trying to lift peoples spirits, but either way it lifted mine each time i cycled past. there was something kinda trivial and prosaic about it, but somehow, still full of hope and meaning..it’s always the small things..i jotted it down in my notebook and a few months later it popped into my head while writing best day of my life.....
