Self portraits for @oddamagazine Issue 23 - 10 Year Anniversary, Vol. 2 My first ever print feature in an editorial, I have waited for this moment since the moment I realized I could dream. A physical representation of who I’ve blossomed into, alongside a conversation that details my approach, my beginnings, my story, and vulnerability. Gratitude to the divine in allowing this voice I hold to act as a vessel for the possible. I speak and mention that “INCLUSIVE REPRESENTATION MEANS HEARING STORIES, ALLOWING ARTISTS TO FEEL SAFE, SEEN, AND HEARD. IT MEANS MY LITTLE BROTHER PICKING UP A MAGAZINE ONE DAY AND SEEING SOMEONE THAT LOOKS JUST LIKE HIM, TELLING THEIR STORY, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, HIM WHOLEHEARTEDLY BELIEVING THAT HE CAN DO THE SAME.” As much as this moment is for my younger self, Amarion, my 11 year old baby brother, my hero — this one’s for you.
