an afternoon with @unalourose 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸💜💜💜💜💜 When we first had the idea to make a rosé together, I was pregnant with our first daughter. Andrew and I are both makers — for me, it’s music and words, for him, it’s land and wine. We came together to create this new wine on the precipice of birthing our first child, so it made perfect sense to name the wine after her, and to honor the poetry of her name. Una is after the muse of our favorite poet, Robinson Jeffers. Her middle name, Lou, is for Andrew’s grandfather, who brought his family and farming to California from Croatia. Having our Una Lou in the middle of harvest 2016 inspired a feeling for the wine: when fruit and flowers are ripe, when the sweet mellow of the grapes, berries, apples, and roses pervades our senses, It’s a time of abundance and creation, feeling the divine feminine and earth’s fecundity, when all is beaming with potential and unknown adventures ahead beckon “Where shall I take you?“ Maybe you are in your garden, at the beach, in your bathtub, at a dinner table, or watching the world go by from a city stoop — intoxicated by the music playing and life's stunning adventure.
