•THE EXPERIENCE• intent summer intensive 2023! coming into intent was the greatest decision ever. at first i was extremely nervous to walk in, wanting to hide in the back corner. but has the minutes go by i’ve realized that it was not all about being perfect or knowing the dances perfectly. with someone who has battled with depression and is struggling with anxiety ive decided to try something i would never think i would do. very first day i was hiding in the very back while learning a hiphop combo. we had finished the combo and was doing it in groups. as the hour went by the teacher asked someone to do it by themselves. i was looking around waiting for someone to go but then i decided to step out of my comfort zone and do the combo by myself. i was super nervous and might have forgotten some of the moves and asking myself why i did that but hearing other people cheer for me made me feel welcomed there. i started getting more comfortable and decided to step up near the front. i knew then that i have surrounded myself with people that i felt comfortable around and that i knew wouldn’t judge me. i want to thank @hilaryrose1 for this experience! you have made me feel more confident in my dancing and i couldn’t thank you enough. also wanna give a big thank you to @ellabella_17 for everything. all the thursday nights and the heartfelt speeches! i wouldn’t be where am i right now if it wasn’t for you. i’m so thankful for everything you have done for me ella!! thank you @intentmoves for the amazing classes! from walking in super nervous to walking out with a scholarship was super meaningful to me! i’m so glad that i had this opportunity to come and super excited to come back next year! 🩷🫶🏻
