Land Jars, 2022 English walnut Max Bainbridge These two large Land Jars are currently showing with @lemonstgallery in our exhibition Idylls of the Field. The walnut they are turned from is some of the most amazing wood Max has worked with. It is full of such high drama as the grain wraps round the whorls of knots and inclusions where branches once grew out from the main body of the tree. Yet as finished vessels they sit with such quiet presence revealing the previously unseen life of the tree across their surface.
