I am so happy to announce the new sylvie single “Further Down the Road” feat. @hello_marina_allen is out today premiering @bbc6music (check bio for link to song and music video) I wrote Further Down the Road about having faith and hope in the face of losing someone close to me. It’s about relinquishing control to a higher power, and trusting in the universe that in time things will fall into place. On one side of the song is heartbreak and on the other is hope and trust that things unfold the way they do for good reason. As usual Marina delivered the sentiment with grace and soul. Each Sylvie song I write is an attempt to break through to the other side of something. On the surface they’re simple folk songs or whatever you want to call them, but underneath is a wanting for truth and striving for self growth. These songs help me overcome personal obstacles in my life, and this song is dear to me for that reason. As a songwriter, the greatest reward is if that energy comes through to you all and can help you with whatever you’re going through.
