The cuteness got me when I saw this. The beauty of course and then the cuteness. That’s the thing with Instagram, it’s easy to scroll on without reading the words. So I had to repost it. Repost @leilajeffreys ・・・ 'Bury me deep in love’ is the title of this work and it was created specially to be auctioned off at the 'Art of Music’ charity gala at the Art Gallery of NSW tonight. ⁣ ⁣ This beautiful charity event raises funds for @noroau who use music therapy to help vulnerable people in the community. Selected artists choose an iconic Australian/NZ song to inspire a piece of work which is then auctioned at a gala dinner in the spectacular Grand Court of the @artgalleryofnsw ⁣ I chose ‘Bury me deep in love’ by Perth band The Triffids released in 1987. Working with these nuzzling Moluccan cockatoos the song came to me in a flash. With the lyrics:⁣ ⁣ Bury me deep in love⁣ Bury me deep in love⁣ Take me in, under your wing⁣ Bury me deep in love⁣ ⁣ It was so literal and felt just right. ⁣ ⁣ Growing up in Perth @thetriffids were the soundtrack to our youth. A local band that wrote 'melancholy songs with stark yet beautiful and uniquely Australian imagery’ (Ian McFarlane). The singer David McComb died at too young an age but his songwriting and memories live on. ⁣ ⁣ I hope these lovebirds help raise well needed funds for tonight, wish them luck.⁣ ⁣ The birds were photographed on a @phaseonephoto camera.
