Tonight I’m offering myself a mini celebration! I'm celebrating all the past versions of me who served such an incredible role of my rising. 

I celebrate the 8 year old who was molested by a family friend. 
I celebrate the 15 year old who was raped by her ex boyfriend. I celebrate that same 15 year old who attempted suicide because she felt so misunderstood and unloved. 
I celebrate the teen who lived through years of domestic violence at home. 
I celebrate the 16 year old who was in therapy healing and committed to finding ways to cope with her bi-polar disorder. 
I celebrate the 20 year old who found out she was pregnant at 24 weeks and had a little over 3 months to mentally wrap her head around motherhood. 

I celebrate the 21 year old who was afraid to be a mother, but did it with courage to do to with her own unique twist. I celebrate the 24 year old young bride who wasn't sure if marriage was for her and did it anyways. I celebrate the 26 year old who was battling depression and anxiety crying in her closet wondering why she wasn't able to feel the love or gratitude for life. I celebrate the 28 year old who decided after years of depression it was time to stop playing the same martyrdom story and take care of herself first. 

I celebrate the 32 year old who knew deep down inside that her marriage was no longer nourishing her, but kept trying anyways. I celebrate the 34 year old who decided that her sexuality and pleasure were NOT someone else's to own. I celebrate the 36 year old who looked at her life and said, “This marriage isn’t working. It’s time to build something new.” I celebrate the version of me who carried me through the last two years of heartache and healing. I celebrate me today. The one who is deeply devoted to rising in love with every moment of her life while helping other femmes redefine their sexual worth. I celebrate all of my darkness and shadows because without them I wouldn’t be be whole. #thebougiebruja #sexualwealth
