Treating Zimbabwe's water challenges through environmental health ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- In Harare, Zimbabwe, the supply and quality of water have been progressively declining over the years, and the country is expected to suffer water stress by 2025. Water-borne diseases such as Typhoid and Cholera have placed a serious public health threat in Harare, where the public water supply is unstable, pit latrines leak sewage, and poor waste management contaminates the groundwater. Our Environmental Health project has been helping to mitigate water scarcity and protect water sources in Harare’s Stoneridge and Mbare communities. “When the project was started, we benefited as a family as we now have access to clean water,” – Precious Kapesa, one of the residents of Stoneridge. #Environmentalhealth #msf #doctorswithoutborders #Zimbabwe #Humanitarian #Cholera #Diarrhea #Watersanitationhygiene #Watersanitation #watersanitationandhygiene
