It was pretty difficult to get my hands on this Hada Labo UV Perfect Gel SPF 50, but it was worth the wait. I’ve also see this called the “White Gel” before. I don’t know if that’s a new/updated version or not, or what exactly the version I have is. Hada Labo almost always updates their formulas every year, so if anyone knows what the current, most recent version of this is, then leave a comment below! Have you tried this? Or any other sunscreen in a jar before? From my research I guess this used to be available on Amazon Prime regularly, but then got switched to only being available through a third-party seller for about $45. When I checked on it again about a week ago, it was available on prime for $23 so I snagged it right away. Yesterday when I checked again it still was, but I’m guessing that won’t last. I am EXTREMELY happy with this. I was a bit doubtful I’d like it/it’d work for me. I don’t know why but I thought it might be sticky. It isn’t, at me on least. My only complaint with this is the very strong alcohol smell Aand the fact that is comes in a jar. Usually the alcohol scent in spf’s doesn’t really bother me, but this is one of the most potent I’ve ever smelled. That said, once it’s on my face I no longer can detect it. So honestly it’s not really that big of a criticism. I am totally in love with the finish, especially after about 5 minutes after it’s fully blended in- which is the case with a lot of spf’s for me. I applied this over a very thin layer of moisturizer. In the summer I could likely use it as both an spf and moisturizer in one, but for the winter I’d definitely be putting a regular moisturizer underneath this first. My skin is fairly normal, for reference. This is so comfortable to wear, and I think it makes my skin look great. 10/10 recommend and I think I’ve found another favorite. Thrilled with this.
