Congratulations to every competitor for their performances in the Uk Barista Championship 2022. A big congratulations to the top 14 who are competing in the semi finals. To begin with, I always struggled with finding a concept for the routines. But I think that is the beauty of it. The way that an idea evolves and becomes something completely different to the original idea, is something extraordinary. And this is the moment that you fall in love with your concept due to its authenticity and originality. Regarding the signature drink, that is a tough one. It is quite hard for us, the baristas, to bring something super innovative on stage. The majority of the techniques that we can do on stage most likely have been done in the past, but that isn’t something that should stop us from exploring what is already out there, and make it even better. For now, I think I will focus on learning how to pull better shots, make tastier milk beverages and explore how different ingredients can work in synergy with different coffees. Time for hard work.
