✌🏼Give me a ‘hell yeah’ if you agree!!
💻 Spotted a magazine article today with a faddy diet in it plus ways to dress for shapes and ideal versions of those said shapes 😩 I mean nothing screams the 90s & 00s than the articles but we are now in 2022, the rhetoric has to change!!
🥤Re. the diet: in my opinion it was extreme and would almost impossible to stick too, very restrictive. Therefore I believe hard to complete, would bring no joy and a lot of shame/regret/disappointment when it didn’t work and no results seen. So a big NO NO from me. And believe me, I totally mucked up my metabolism in my early 20s with awful nutrition - resulted in me gaining so much weight and also feeling so unhappy & unconfident. I’m not qualified to advise in diet btw & it’s not really my focus beyond nourishing ourselves to feel good & energised - and I share recipes that I love for that!
➡️ Back to this post...
We have to be released from this pressure. And it exists in pregnancy & postpartum too - with the ‘neat bumps’ and ‘bouncing back’ lazy articles. We are all DIFFERENT amazing multifaceted people and bodies. So there’s not a shape or solution for everyone (and also do we need a solution or to be fixed??!)
💛 BUT it’s ok to think ‘ooh I’m a bit wobbly, I think it’s time to workout a bit and focus on some healthy food’ or ‘wow I finally feel ready to stop snacking now I’m less sleep deprived’ and then BOOM you have your intrinsic reason and focus (not a silly article from someone totally disconnected from you telling your things that don’t relate).
⚡️ So when you have your goal (your what) and your reason (your why) you just need your HOW
& your WHEN - as not making a clear plan is often the reason people find it hard to reach their goals.
⚖️ For most people, honestly it’s a simple & similar equation if the start of your goal is to get moving more, fitter in general and loose a bit of weight/tone up: MOVE MORE & MAKE SMALL TWEAKS TO DIET.
🥦 Simple things like introducing more veggies, crowding out the meat, non-processed snacks, less of the juice & sugary drinks - ALWAYS more water.
Then MOVE! In a way that gives you joy & keeps you motivated. Cont’d in comments ⬇️
