Thank #alicewalker for the story of The Color Purple. . I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to have played CELIE in @themuny production of THE COLOR PURPLE. It was so much FUN!! . I don’t know if I’ll ever have the words to describe looking out into the vastness as I got to say “I’m Beautiful, YES! I’m Beautiful...and I’M HERE!!” I didn’t realize just how much I needed this story, with these people, at this time!! . I could hear my inner child saying, “THANK YOU”. . I love being a storyteller. This piece reminded me that the gift of storytelling and the gifts that vibrate within me, don’t belong to me. I am a vessel. Connected to all energies of the cosmos, created by source to house, share, & contribute to the art of creation. Freely and with Joy!! . Thank you Celie for healing yet another part of my inner child! You make me smile!! . Thank you @batmanbr0wn @breonarzell & @jermainelhill for trusting me in this role and making me feel so safe and seen!! This was my first time being directed by a black woman.
