Last weekend we had a last minute trip to DC with our extended family. We stopped by the Capitol Building so Little Red could see where Ruth Bader Ginsburg became the first woman to lie in state. Who was RBG? She was the second woman to serve on the Supreme Court and spent her life fighting against gender discrimination. Despite all her efforts, sadly there is still so much gender inequality in the world. I work in a male dominated field as an engineer. I am the only black woman manager of a total of 3 black managers at my site. I don't want this to be Little Red's reality and only option. That is why we are working our hardest to build generational wealth to provide her with freedom of time. Time that she can choose to do as she please...whether it is working in a male dominated field because she chooses or living her best life on the beach because she chooses so.
