PLZ WATCH TILL THE END😭 no chick was harmed in the filming of this video 🐥 read caption for explaination, for those who may not know what is going on. 😂 my family have been raising chickens and labs on the same property all my life. ruby is our youngest lab and this lil batch of chicks are the youngest we have right now, (we have 20-30 adults who are free range). in order for a new group of chicks to eventually become free range, we train our dogs to become familiar with them when they are small so they know they are off the menu once they are older. ruby is obviosly still in the learning phase, and she is also a bird dog so she is learning to differentiate between these chickens and the actual birds she is trained to hunt. if we dont expose the chicks to her at a young age, then we probably wouldn’t have any chickens left. we have gone through this process with every dog we own, so that they know to leave the chickens alone once they become free range. all of our older dogs already know this and leave them alone because they’ve understood from a young age that they’d get in trouble if they didnt. so don’t worry we know what we are doing, this was just a funny oopsie and no chick was harmed 😂 ruby is getting better with them everyday, she was just very excited to see them today because its thier first day living outside :) #fyp #labs @bbwhite456
