Last night well exceeded my wildest dreams. I wanted to make a movie that would give voice to the dignity, complexity, strength and love inside of this group of beautiful diverse Latinx characters. And last night that movie won an academy award. This one is for all the little brown kids who have questioned their worth. Know that you are worthy and beautiful and loved beyond all measure. I feel deeply humbled and grateful to have been a part of this truly incredible cast and team. To have a loving partner who has supported me every step of the way.
