Flawlessly cover acne w/o looking cakey! Acne can be tricky to cover when it’s only in one area, of an overall clear complexion. 1. Apply a hydrating moisturizer (@charlottetilbury Magic Cream). Often times when someone has been treating acne, they are drying out the area with products, foundation applied w/o hydration can grab to the dryness and look cakey. 2. Evaluate the most clear area of the face and decide what foundation (ideally a skin tint) makes the most sense. I chose @lancomeofficial Skin Feels Good. I applied 1 generous pump to her whole face with a fluffy foundation brush (@itcosmetics Heavenly Luxe Brush no 7). Now the upper section only needed a bit of concealer under the eyes. The bottom half was about 50% covered. 3. Bring in your full coverage foundation. I use @esteelauder Double Wear in a TINY amount. Like 1/2 the size of a pea. I get it on my same brush and STIPPLE over the areas that need more. At this point, I’m now 90% covered with a bit of redness STILL showing through on some dots. 4. Next, apply concealer under the eyes, I rarely use traditional concealer to cover solo acne spots. 5. The whole thing needs to be set with powder to lock it in, so I move to powder foundation. I know that sounds like a LOT of product, but we are applying in micro layers. @maccosmetics Studio Fix is the GOAT. I apply this in a stippling motion (never rub back and forth or drag, as you will F up the foundation texture.) with a small, fluffy brush. I take my time and go over that whole lower region. The upper section of the face didn’t need it, but I took what was left on my brush and set between her brows and nose. I take a TINY pencil brush with more powder foundation and lightly tap any spot I see. DONE. 6. Use setting spray to lock it in! 7. You and the bride need to know you cannot erase any texture from the bumps, but this process will make it look as smooth as possible! Emily has worked really hard to get her skin together and I see a noticeable difference from today vs her preview. The finished result is so beautiful and she looks radiant and fresh!
