WE REACHED OUR KITTEN FUNDRAISING GOAL!!!! And surpassed it, thanks to a few very generous donors — we are SO GRATEFUL to everyone who contributed to their medical fund and very touched considering how comparatively small our group of cat lovers out there is. If you missed the post last week, we took in 6 bottle babies after they were found cold, underweight, and covered in fleas in an alley in Queens. Their mother was dead nearby. Kittens so young (only three weeks at the time) are incredibly fragile, so we didn't expect them all to survive. We're psyched to report that all of them — as you can see — are thriving. (So is their kitten-crazed foster dad. Swipe.) These now 6-week-olds are currently weaning off of the bottle and are learning the joys of wet food. They're in a foster home with a few adult cats and a medium sized dog, so they're also learning to be as socially savvy as a feline can get. It's fun watching such tiny things develop — the species does it very quickly. They're already mostly litter box trained, for instance, which would be the equivalent of a 6-week-old puppy being almost fully housebroken... which is pretty much impossible. They're now starting to climb, run, and play. Before long, they'll be uncontainable. They’ll be up ready to go home with their forever families early next month and listed on our website by tonight. They’ll need to be adopted either in pairs or to homes where there is already a social kitty. Interested?
