Princess Serenity: Sailor Moon Crystal 🫧🌙 Our customer Julie loved the Serenity gown we created for our bridal client Amy and requested a version of her own. With each of our commissions, we make certain that each creation is unique unto itself. The great thing about the Sailor Moon universe is that there is so much content to draw inspiration from! For Julie’s version, we used the silhouette from Princess Serenity Sailor Moon: Crystal. The corset hits at the natural waistline. For the skirt, we used 10 yards on each layer. The base is silk charmeuse with two layers of silk chiffon, 30 yards total on the skirt alone! The layers of the skirt are cut in a double circle skirt for maximum flowiness. Each layer is merrow stitched to create a lettuce hem. For her bow, we used a pleated mesh on a simple wireframe that she can tuck into the back of her gown. After plotting out the design and placement of her details for the tambour frame we bought all the beads and crystals keeping the colors in ivory, AB, and light silver & pale gold. Because there is a lot of space between the beaded “U” I wanted to add texture underneath them. I gathered the silk chiffon under the circles to create a cute ruffle and gathered the bottom at the waist. The tambour "cage" was placed over the gathers. I love the elongated effect and I feel like it gives it a Grecian look. I can’t wait to see photos of her in her gown!
