Repost from @amazonwatch • Our latest Complicity in Destruction report, released in February 2022 in partnership with @ApibOficial, reveals the main investors of mining companies that want to exploit Indigenous territories in Brazil. From 2016 to 2021, these mining companies which include Vale, Anglo American, and Belo Sun received a total of $54.1 billion in financing through banks and asset managers. Many of the banks and asset managers funding these companies are US-based. Capital Group, BlackRock, and Vanguard invested US$ 14.8 billion dollars in the nine companies investigated due to their research applications overlapping Indigenous lands, and track record of rights violations.
