There are always stories behind the cover story! When Sergio Kletnoy confirmed Gloria and Emily for our August cover - I immediately called @orelnyc and @roxannedoucet to talk about who would photograph this legend. Roxanne suggested @alexandersaladrigas whose work has been featured in @voguemexico before. Alex is a Cuban American photographer who grew up in Miami listening to Gloria’s music and his grandma of course listened to Celia Cruz. We put a great crew together and despite summer airport madness, 5 out of 6 of our crews flights were delayed or cancelled, including my own, but we all made it.
