I opened it. He looked like he needed a hug but there was scent coming off of him that I haven’t smelled since I was touring Europe with a backpack: oil and leather and spit. It was the smell of a drifter. He asked me for a glass of water and I gave him a shot of Jameson. He asked for something to eat. I gave him my dog and told him of the old adage: “...learn to fish, eat for a lifetime.” I asked to take a picture with him because I know that it was possible that I was experiencing what they call a ‘spiritual moment’ and that this man may not actually be of human stock. I showed the photo to a friend of mine and he told me that the sage that showed up at my door is Aquaman.
