PICARD COSTUME ARTISANS SPOTLIGHT Allison Agler - Assistant Costume Designer @allieag89 Like Laverne & Shirley, Tina & Amy, Thelma & Louise - I had the best partner in Allison Agler for Picard S2! There were many days when we really could have driven off a cliff but somehow, through our shared determination to succeed and a lot of sarcastic humor, we made it all the way to the Emmys, together. The word Assistant in the title of Assistant Costume Designer can be misleading to those outside of the Costume Department. Yes, Allison's major objective is to Assist the Costume Designer in the creative vision from concept, to construction, through all of the fittings and on to camera, but the title never seems to encompass the scope of skills, communication and magnitude of multi-tasking that is required for success. In Season Two of STP, Allison guided two workrooms, three satellite textile shops, hundreds of costume fittings, multiple vendors, extraordinary amounts of sourcing unique fabrics - hers was the job of three people and she managed it all with her superhuman measure of grace, wit and expertise. As a dual card holder - in both Costume Unions - Allison has an extraordinary command of the entire creative AND technical processes that go into creating costumes from concept to camera. With her ever present notebook and the ability to share superbly cold diet cokes in moments of crisis, Allison truly excelled in hero support on all levels. Our Picard Costume Department was comprised of over thirty artists and Allison was a ride or die, champion and confidant to all of us. I'm so very proud of her tenacity, thankful that she saw it all through to the end and very, very much look forward to watching her bright career ahead. @cdglocal892 @motionpicturecostumers @startrekonplus @sirpatstew #costumedesign #costumedesigner #picard #startrekpicard
