Morning !! Let me introduce you to my culture😊 Ashenda ኣሸንዳ is a traditional celebration originated in Tigray. The holiday started off to celebrate assumption of Virgin Mary then it evolved into a cultural one celebrated by girls and young women of all backgrounds. Currently, it is being celebrated in different parts of Ethiopia and Eritrea with different names. This year Tigrayan girls and young women aren’t able to celebrate due to the ongoing war and weaponized famine . A couple of Doctors from @hpn4tigray and @msyshoesorg are going to Sudan refugee camps to help the girls celebrate Ashenda. #Ashenda2022 Ashenda is about freedom and empowerment for women & girls.
